Frequently asked questions
What is amCharts Editor?
A browser-based tool for building interactive amCharts 5 charts from templates — edit them visually, then export or publish. No coding required. Browse the templates to start one.
Where did the old version of the editor go?
This is the current amCharts Editor, built for amCharts 5. The previous version is still available at live-v3.amcharts.com.
Do I need an account?
You can try the editor without one, but saving, exporting your library, and publishing need an account. You can sign up with email, Google, or GitHub.
What's the difference between Free and Pro?
Free lets you save up to 5 charts with 10 MB of storage. Pro adds publishing (shareable pages at chart.amcharts.com) and higher limits. See Pricing for
details.
What happens to my saved charts if my Pro subscription ends?
Nothing is deleted — your charts stay saved. If you end up over the Free limits, you can still open, edit, export, and delete your existing charts; you just can't create new ones or add more data until you're back under the limit or on Pro again.
What happens to my published charts if Pro ends?
Publishing is a Pro feature, so when you move to Free your published charts enter a 30-day grace period — they stay online, and we email you a heads-up. If you're still on Free after that, their public pages are taken offline automatically. The charts themselves stay saved in My Charts, so you can re-upgrade and republish anytime.
How do I publish a chart?
On Pro, use the Publish button in the editor (or from My Charts). Your chart
gets a public page at chart.amcharts.com/<your-handle>/<chart> that
anyone with the link can view. You can unpublish anytime.
How do usernames (handles) work?
Your published charts live under a username you choose, at chart.amcharts.com/<your-handle>/…. Claiming a username is a Pro feature (Free accounts can't publish, so there's nothing to name yet).
Once claimed it's yours and stays reserved even if you later move to Free — but you can only
change it while on Pro.
Can I embed a chart on my website?
Yes. Copy the <iframe> snippet from the publish dialog, or just paste the
chart's link on a platform that supports oEmbed (WordPress, Ghost, Notion, and others) and it
embeds automatically.
Is a Pro subscription an amCharts license?
No. Pro pays for the editor — it is not a license for the amCharts charting library. To use your charts elsewhere, you can rely on the amCharts standard (free) license or buy a commercial license from the amCharts store. See our Terms for more.
How do I download my data?
On your Account page, use Download my data to get a ZIP of your account and all your charts (a GDPR data export).
How do I cancel, downgrade, or delete my account?
Cancel or switch to Free from Account — you keep Pro until the end of your billing period. You can also permanently delete your account there (irreversible; removes your charts and published pages). Billing is handled by Paddle.
Is my data private?
See our Privacy Policy. In short: we collect the minimum needed to run the service, we don't sell your data, and published charts are public only because you chose to publish them.
How do I get help or report a bug?
Head to Support. We read everything and prioritize Pro subscribers.
